But those fancy plans don't come for free,

You can make great fun of Perrier, but money helps.
You can drive that rusty Chevrolet, but money helps.
You can celebrate with the cheapest wines,
Look forward to wealthier times
But just to pay those library fines,

You can live a life of solid worth and money helps.

You can dance with big holes in your shoes;
You can say it's the simple life you choose;
But it's not rich folks invented the blues --
          Money helps!
