RainSong
by Kathryn Morski
Rainy day.. Warm dripping from the sky of gray,
Drops slipping to the rumpled bay.
Waves offer lace, then run away.
Symmetry of sparkle, spider web agleam.
Soft and steady tapping, gently flows the dream.
Linty clouds.. Grey sidewalks full of dampened crowds.
Silk blossoms to umbrella flowers.
Wet mailman hates these sudden showers.
Drumming on the rooftops, smells of wet and green.
Wiper blades mark time to punctuate the scene.
Rain runs down the sidewalk to the gutters to the bay...
Waves rolling in. Rain free again.
Simple cycle song -- it suits my mood.
Windowpane. World distorted by the falling rain.
Cool glass against a trusting face.
Rain makes the world a gentle place.
Rain falls slowly, lightly, turns the world to gray,
Peaceful, ever busy, drips the time away.
Wrap me up inside a rainy day. It suits my mood.
Waves rolling in. Rain free again.
Simple cycle song -- it suits my mood.
