Little Wheel

By Kathryn Morski

E7                                                            As7+4                          As7
Little wheel, keep turning round, round; autumn sky is flat and gray;
E7                                                            As7+4                          As7
I’ve got both feet on the ground, now; train, she cry so far away;
   E7                      B7
   And I won’t go back, I won’t go back
   As7                  +4        E7
   Now that I am on my way!
   E7                              B7
   You see, my “used-to-be”s are memories.
   As7                 +4             C        B7
   I think it’s my future that I hear say:

“Little stream, keep tumbling down, down, stronger as you gather speed.
There's no need for level ground, now.  Free fall may be what you need!”
   And as I start to slide, await the ride,
   The plunge is worth the price of the show!
   At least the fall is free.  The rest is up to me.
   Get ready, get set, and here I go!

INTERLUDE

Little dream I’ve lost and found, found, little road that lures me on,
I’ll arrive at stable ground, now, after I’m a long time gone.
   And though the pageantry appeals to me
   The journey isn’t mine to betray.
   I’ll surely take along my memories and song
   If you’re out there moanin’ you will hear me say:

“Little wheel keep turning round, round – I am on the road like you!
Little stream keep tumbling down, down – I’ll tumble, too, before I’m through!"
"Little wheel keep turning round, round – I am on the road like you!
Little stream keep tumbling down, down – I’ll tumble, too, before I’m through!
