Snowflakes

By Kathryn Morski

A                          G#m    F#m        D                           A
Snowflakes streaming by my window as I travel along this road.
A         G#m F#m                         D                   A
If I had a pebble for each of my sins, I’d be carrying a heavy load;
G                              A                   G                      E
And these snowflakes seem like the dreams I had that never quite came true:
A                   G#m F#m                          D                   E7     A
Sometimes they fade and sometimes they fall and sometimes they just blow through.

Raindrops falling on my window as I sit here in the night.
If I had a stair-step for each of my loves, I could climb clear out of sight;
And these raindrops seem like the dreams I had that never saw the light of day:
Sometimes they fail and sometimes they fall and sometimes they just run away.

G                         A
And it’s no wonder that a woman like me
G                      A
Should fall for a man like you,
G                                      A
With your drifter’s dreams, and your dreamer’s eyes
D                              E         E7
And your stories that aren’t half true…

Sunshine falling on my shoulders as I walk through a brand-new day.
If I had the choice of a life I could live, I would live it the same old way
‘Cause the sunshine warms like the dreams and the loves that heal my aching soul:
Sometimes it burns and sometimes it hides, and sometimes it makes me whole.  I said:
Sometimes it burns and sometimes it hides, and sometimes it makes me whole.
